Designing eco-durable tiny homes
Green Energy Park, a pioneering center in the field of renewable energy, was established through a collaboration between Mohammed VI Polytechnic University (UM6P) and the Research Institute for Solar Energy and New Energies (IRESEN). This center is designed to be a hub of research and innovation, with a focus on sustainable development and energy transition. Featuring the “Green & Smart Building Park,” it provides a sophisticated infrastructure for experimenting with and implementing advanced technologies, allowing for the testing of innovative solutions in energy efficiency, eco-friendly construction, and intelligent network management.
The “Green & Smart Building Park” plays a crucial role as a platform dedicated to experimentation and training. It enables researchers, engineers, and students to collaborate on projects aimed at enhancing building energy performance and integrating ecological solutions. By focusing on green buildings, smart grids, and electric mobility, this platform contributes to creating more sustainable and energy-efficient built environments while fostering the emergence of new practices and technologies in the sector.
In this dynamic context, Solar Decathlon Africa was launched by UM6P, IRESEN, and Green Energy Park as an international competition. This contest, bringing together 54 universities and over 1,000 students, highlights global efforts to design eco-durable homes. Participants are invited to propose innovative designs that combine energy performance with sustainability, offering potential solutions to current and future environmental challenges. This initiative not only stimulates the creativity and ingenuity of young talents but also promotes the dissemination of best practices in eco-friendly construction across Africa and beyond.
Sustainable, reliable, and high-performance Huawei residential inverters
In the context of Solar Decathlon Africa, Huawei residential inverters stood out for their durability, reliability, and exceptional performance. Subjected to rigorous testing on the campus of Mohammed VI Polytechnic University, these inverters demonstrated their effectiveness in energy conversion and performance maximization.
Their ability to handle multiple strings simultaneously allows for optimized monitoring and management of energy within buildings and tiny homes, ensuring maximum use of solar resources and optimized energy performance.
“ Huawei products have been tested, demonstrating remarkable performance in terms of energy conversion, yield maximization, and multi-string capabilities to ensure effective monitoring and management of energy within the buildings and tiny homes on the Mohammed VI Polytechnic University campus, ” says Khalil TIJANI, Project Manager in Photovoltaics at IRESEN.

Huawei FusionSolar residential inverters are well-known for their performance and reliability in photovoltaic systems. Here are some key advantages of these inverters :
- Ease of installation : Huawei inverters are designed to be easy to install and configure, potentially reducing installation costs and the time required to commission the system.
- Compactness and design : Huawei FusionSolar residential inverters are generally compact and aesthetically pleasing, making them easy to integrate into various residential environments without taking up too much space.
- Smart monitoring : Huawei inverters feature advanced monitoring systems, allowing real-time performance tracking through mobile apps or web interfaces. This facilitates quick problem detection and optimizes overall performance.
- Dynamic power optimization : These inverters use power optimizers that automatically adjust the performance of each solar panel to compensate for shading or failures, which can improve the overall system yield.
- Integration with storage solutions : Huawei offers integrated energy storage solutions, allowing the inverter to be combined with batteries to store excess energy and use it when the sun is not available.
These Huawei FusionSolar residential inverters have confirmed their performance and durability, notably during a year-long test conducted at Green Energy Park. Thanks to these features, Huawei inverters are proven to be an excellent choice for residential installations seeking energy efficiency and robustness.
Eco-durable homes with energy efficiency thanks to Huawei residential inverters
The collaboration between Green Energy Park and Green Power, initiated during Solar Decathlon Africa, was marked by the integration of Huawei residential inverters, bringing significant advancements in the design of eco-durable homes. By generously providing these inverters during the competition, Green Power not only facilitated effective photovoltaic energy conversion but also optimized the energy management of the homes developed by the students.
This cooperation enriched the project with value-added services, including specialized training on photovoltaic integration, thereby enhancing participants’ skills and improving the energy efficiency of the homes. This partnership demonstrated how advanced technology and strategic collaboration can transform residential construction practices towards greater sustainability and energy efficiency.

“ We are very pleased with our partnership with Green Power, and we look forward to strengthening it in the future through new collaborations between the two entities, ” comments Khalil TIJANI, Project Manager in Photovoltaics at IRESEN.
